About Rice Bowl

Rice Bowl is one of the chinese restaurants listed in Katy, Texas. The business is registered at 378 S Mason Rd, Katy, TX 77450; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Katy; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Texas are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 11 AM–9 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (281) 392-0303. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is ricebowlfoodtogo.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

The Food is edible nothing else. Since it’s basically cafeteria style there’s not much in service. Atmosphere is very industrial. Here’s where the problem is you can see into the kitchen all night long. There were three or four people without Hairnets. The worst part was one of the cooks. We were there over an hour. He never watched his hands. How do I know that? He never left his station. He would cook when he didn’t have an order he would turn around and lean against his station facing the dining room. He would be on his phone with no gloves on. We all know phones have the most bacteria on them. While he would be on his phone, he would be scratching his face, rubbing his face picking his ears. He also had a beard and no hairnet. Add one slow point there was at least four people in the kitchen on their phones texting and or talking. I didn’t finish my food. I couldn’t. I did not let my wife finish hers either. Totally appalled by what the manager was letting go on. I will never go back. I will not let any of my friends go back. This was disgusting.

Where are all the foodies? This place services Chinese American cuisine and Indonesian cuisine. There are not that many Indonesian Restaurants in Katy. I heard about this place 15 years ago and finally decided to give it a try. I’m missing out. The dish I order was Sambal Goreng Kentang Buncis which is mainly stir fried string beans and potato but the flavor is amazing. I need to come back and try the other dishes. This place looks like family owned and is casual dining. Limited seating. 4 stars for service was because the lady behind the register looks angry. This place is recommended.

I ordered online and ran into something pretty frustrating right away. The lunch menu isn’t listed online at all. They have other items and the dinner menu available, which makes it misleading if you’re trying to order ahead. When I arrived and asked about it, the staff told me you have to come in person to order from the lunch menu. That’s not something most people would expect, especially when everything else is posted online. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. I ordered the Kwetiau Goreng, and the flavor was good overall, but it had way too much egg, and the shrimp were pretty small. The General Joe’s wings were unusually large, which felt a bit questionable. My coworker ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce and he said that those little shrimp were drowning in all that sauce. There’s definitely potential here, but they should consider using larger shrimp in their dishes and making the lunch menu available online like everything else. It would make the whole ordering process a lot smoother and less confusing.

Best Asian cuisine in Katy. Their food is tasty and flavorful and the portions are big. It’s my 3rd time going this month and everything is delicious. The service is fast and efficient too.
